about Nancy Luca
Nancy Luca moved with her family from New York to the college town of Gainesville, Florida, as a child in 1964. She received her first Fender Stratocaster while taking lessons from Mike Campbell of the local band Mudcrutch, pre-Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. She has been playing lead guitar in bands ever since. In the late ‘80s and ‘90s, she worked with Bo Diddley, who wrote two songs for her and produced them in the studio. Nancy moved from Gainesville to Los Angeles in 1990, where she fronted her own band for a decade and recorded two CDs of original material. The video for Rejection is from her second CD.
After graduating from the University of Southern California in 2001, Nancy built her own garage studio and continues to record both her own music and that of others. She is currently performing with Whole Lotta Rosies as Angus, The Backyard Band, and The Nancy Luca Florida Band. Nancy also produced and played on the upcoming Ashleigh Flynn & The Riveters record, which is set for release in March 2025.
